When you create an account, we collect the information needed to authenticate your identity and manage your subscription. Depending on how you register:
If you sign in with a third-party identity provider (such as Google or Apple), we receive the email address and basic profile information that provider shares with us.
We also store account data you choose to add, such as vehicle profiles and saved places (see the Vehicle Profiles and Saved Places section below), and subscription status information received from our billing providers. The information we collect is used only to provide and support the Service, manage your account, improve our clearance data, and send service-related communications.
Low Clearance Map (web): Whenever you visit our website, we collect information that your browser sends to us, referred to as Log Data. This may include your Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser version, pages visited, the time and date of your visit, time spent on pages, and other statistics. This data is collected in part through Google Analytics (see Analytics section below).
HeadRoom (mobile app): The HeadRoom app does not use Google Analytics. Requests the app makes to our servers (authentication, subscription checks, route and clearance queries, and syncing of your vehicle profiles and saved places) generate the same server logs and route data described in the next section.
Our Service is hosted on Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run). As part of normal server operation, backend infrastructure logs are automatically generated and may include your IP address, request timestamps, and HTTP request metadata. These logs are retained for up to 30 days and are used solely for security monitoring and debugging.

This route data is retained and used to operate and troubleshoot the Service and to improve the quality and accuracy of our bridge and clearance data through ongoing curation and review. It is not used for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose beyond operating and improving the Service. We do not sell this data to third parties.
This applies to both the Low Clearance Map website and the HeadRoom mobile app.
Both Low Clearance Map and HeadRoom allow you to save one or more vehicle profiles (including details such as vehicle name, type, height, length, width, and weight) and saved places (such as a home address or other bookmarked locations), so you receive accurate clearance alerts for your specific vehicle and can plan routes more quickly.
When you are signed in, vehicle profiles and saved places are stored in your Low Clearance Map account on our servers and synced between the website and the HeadRoom app. We may derive your general home country or region from a saved home address for aggregate reporting on where our users operate. We may also use vehicle profile data in aggregate (for example, typical dimensions by vehicle type) to improve the Service.
Clearing your browser's site data or uninstalling the HeadRoom app removes any local copy from your device but does not delete the data stored in your account. You can delete individual vehicle profiles and saved places from within the Service, or contact us to request deletion of your account data.

You may accept or decline analytics cookies when prompted on your first visit. You can manage or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect your ability to use some portions of the Service.

Low Clearance Map (web only): We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized information about how visitors use our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect data such as pages visited, time spent on the site, and general geographic location. This helps us improve the Service.
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC. For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy. You may opt out at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
HeadRoom (mobile app): The HeadRoom app does not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers. Route requests, vehicle profiles, and saved places are transmitted to our servers as described in the sections above.
We employ the following third-party companies to facilitate or support our Service. These providers are obligated to handle your information only as necessary to perform their designated functions and may not use it for any other purpose.
We value your trust in providing us your personal information and strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Our Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of these websites. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Our Services are intended for commercial drivers, RV travelers, and other operators of tall vehicles, and do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete it from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take the necessary action.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy on this page along with a revised "Last Updated" date. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.
